About Piraeus Weather Station

This weather station is privately owned and operated, is not affiliated with the City of Piraeus, and the data on this site should not be used to base important decisions that could result in harm to people or property. Located at a private residence in Piraeus in the area of Kalipoli one Klm  Northwest from Piraeus downtown, 500 meters from the main Port of Piraeus and  300meters inland from Piraiki - the sea of Saronic golf.-

Latitude: 37.92.01 - Longitude: 23.63.10 and 68 meters above the sea level.


Manos Tassopoulos is the founder and operator of the site. "I was fed up with most of the mainstream weather sites using Athens Airport weather reports for Piraeus Port. My hobby is computers and web developement programming, making a useful weather web site was an enjoyable project."
 

The station is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station (Model 6163). The station is wireless and comprises of an anemometer with windspeed and direction, rain gauge, temperature sensor, humidity sensor, and barometer. My Weather data shown online is collected from the weather station using WeatherLink Software. The data is collected every 2.5 seconds to a Windows computer and the web site is automatically updated at 10 second intervals with current condition. The stats and graphs pages are updated every 5 minutes.
